National Business Initiative (NBI) is a joint private sector undertaking. NBI intends to contribute to the larger peacebuilding project of the country through just socio-economic growth.

Every aspect of the society has been affected by the current conflict in Nepal. The private sector, a key stakeholder by virtue of being part of the Nepali society, has been directly affected by the deteriorating business environment. Therefore, the business sector is determined to play its role in changing the situation for better. The Nepali private sector fully realizes its potential and wants to proactively contribute to peacebuilding. The NBI is initiated to demonstrate the private sector's stake in the conflict and its commitment to peace.

The NBI will coordinate the business-led peacebuilding initiations to ensure that the private sector actors are involved at the local, regional and national levels to implement socio-economic interventions. The interventions will be designed with the aim of contributing to sustainable peace in the country and will be implemented on short term, medium term and long term basis.
